Just Renting Art

Why do small businesses or other big corporations opt for art rental than just buying the artwork outright? Thousands of dollars are spent for wall paintings to be set in the domestic front. Then how come companies who spend big bucks for office furniture would just rent an art piece than just keeping it for good?

No one can dispute the positive vibes that corporate art exudes up to the executive level down to their base of clientele. Companies of whether corporations, partnership or sole proprietorship know that artwork will put credibility to their business, most especially if the workplace is being visited by the customers.  Corporate art among other advantages give the impression that the company is “can afford” to bring the profit back to people. Otherwise, such business will be tagged as small attracting small investors and cheap customers.

The aesthetics or the overall appearance of the company office says so much about its fund to run the business. This is very important secondarily to the customers but primarily to the group of investors.  However most of the time, it is not easy to justify the millions of dollars spent for the corporate art, most especially when investors start to audit. And because investors fund whatever the company needs, every single cent spent or every dime that needs to be cashed out require justification.  It is very challenging to create a valid reason as to why the business needs millions and dollars for a wall painting or for an artwork that will serve as the company logo. Here is where art rental solves the issue.

As much as the business wants to convince the investors that a wall painting or a sculpture from a renowned artist is a good investment, and that soon it will be sold for the nth times higher than the original price, it is not an outstanding professional reason no matter how this can be thought several times.  This can be logical to discuss the art purchase ROI only if this is the company’s business. Otherwise, when ROI is dealt during the meeting or conference with the investors, expected to be discussed is the ROI from what the company is running.

With the aforementioned discussion in mind, art rental becomes the wisest decision for businesses to display corporate art. Company pays a fragment in a month from the actual selling price of the art piece. Once it doesn’t serve the purpose anymore of entertainment, beautification, and expression, it is discarded and handed over back to the art dealer or the artist/owner himself.

Corporate Art for B2B

Corporate art is a good investment and if we speak of business, corporations or big time company will not spend on aesthetics if those that beautify will mean luxury alone. Businesses will buy the idea of aesthetics if it will only insinuate ROI or will entice more customers to come which would mean more money to expect.

Art gives good vibes to business. Instead of spreading feng shui all around the area, some would opt for artistic creations like high-grade wall painting and sculpture to give light to the mission and vision of a particular institution or establishment. Most of the arts that surround the vicinity, in fact, represent what the company stands for. It is the real meaning of art behind its physical appearance. It is called expression. And when we speak of aesthetics, it is art that makes clients or customers stop for a while to think, to make decision, to relieve stress if something in the business does not work for them somehow. Corporate art must be a head turner to lure people to come by and visit. It had to be a show stopper if bad things are at peak in the business. To sum it up, corporate art makes a lot of things for the company.

In lieu with all that are mentioned above, many agencies carry corporate art. They do B2B or to elaborate, they deal with business to business. It is their field to carry corporate arts that can be supplied to different businesses which will serve as their base of clientele. Expect to include real entrepreneurs in the team as well as group of art experts like interior designers, architects, or fine artists because businesses in all fields need to be backed up with good customer service which can do the work hands on. Artworks they carry must have been originated from the art creators themselves but their installation as part of the office set-up or company interior design is handled by the business per se.

With this mind, people with formal education on art or if not those who have innate talent on art are crucial to the team doing B2B for corporate art. People who have a unique and outstanding eye for beauty are the important people in this kind of business. They serve as consultants as well and the designer themselves. Corporate art is best entrusted to people who in just one glance know exactly what suits the space best and in just a moment of perusal through the corporate business pamphlet know exactly what art to excellently represent the company.

No big company will deny anything that can make their business grow. Aside from the health benefit of the art to the company, if time came that these collections do not anymore serve a purpose, then they can be sold for more than its original price. It is business, anyway!

Asian art is rich country’s good finds

Asians take pride of anything they possess which originated from the west or from Europe.  This happens despite Asian art prevails in the market. Psychologically, anything associated from the first world is deemed to stand out. The logic behind is that even their aesthetic value is associated with the currency exchange rate.

The higher the value of a respective currency, all the more that Asians herald whatever is acquiesced that has such currency value of whether the items are on sale or just give- away. What accompanies these items is a status symbol.  Not all are exposed to the products of more fortunate countries so we speak here of rarity or exclusivity. Plus, only few can afford or have the means or better yet have a better opportunity to possess these foreign goods. ‘Say wall paintings, artworks created by Asian artists are one of a kind and simply brilliant. But for Asians, who wouldn’t want a French or Italian painting in their home wall instead of an art piece magnificently painted by a neighbour! Even the price shoots up it can be sold in local currency unlike the former that we strictly speak of “dollars”.

What is mentioned is the opposite why western countries patronize anything that is Asian. Yes, it is already given that Asian is more cultural as compared to United States, for example.  They do not have much as what Asians have when it comes to tradition, culture, and religions.  And If they do have, expect that diversity is way too less.

Anyway, if there is a common logic behind purchase between Asians and others, it is rarity. Conservatively, to secure wall paintings coming from Asia requires long travel. There is a challenge of securing them plus it goes with their planned vacation in Asia which expenditure expected is less than going somewhere else.

Other than that, aside from experiencing rich culture with Asian art wall paintings, Foreigners most especially from the first world would opt for cheaper finds. Asian art is not cheap in quality and sold relatively in a high price in the country where it originates but speaking of currency conversion rate,  dollars still find Asian art cost saving.

Take into consideration the logic between the two and you’ll come up with the answer why there are countries doomed to poverty while there is a few that continuously climbs up to prosperity. The latter obviously is after quality and cost saving while the former goes for status symbol.  Rich countries constantly look for good finds which attributes include quality, durability and rarity rolled in to one but with a price that is for them below reasonable. With all these, good finds for them are Asian art!

Corporate Art

Many artists earn big bucks if their style is well-acclaimed to suit corporate art. Who wouldn’t get bewitched with more than life-sized wall painting to hang amid the interior of a glass tower! An artist can be so good if big or well-renowned companies seek his service as sole or as one of the corporate artists. And you can bet that big bucks follow him.

Of whether the artworks are up for sale or for art rental, art pieces belonging to corporate art can be relatively pricey compared to others. It is a big break for an artist when a company notices his works and soon be considered to be in display in its huge walls. It can start with a piece or two until such time that the artist’s name become identifiable to a particular company or corporation. There are times that artists such as this can be contracted as exclusive suppliers of art pieces for an agency or institution while many would still prefer to go freelance where they make themselves open to different offers from different establishments.

What can a wall painting do to a corporate interior? If a wall painting can give an ordinary house a touch of elegance, then how much more it does to a corporate setting! Money spent on company’s aesthetics is a number of times greater than that of spent on a mansion house. It is like comparing the value of a lot for commercial purposes viz-a-viz the residential ones. We speak here of double, triple, or safer to say multiple rate.

Can you just imagine an office ambiance which usually is filled with executive chairs, neutral coloured wooden table, matched with grayish shaded carpet and huge white to cream window blinds? Close your eyes. Envision. And tell us what you see but a dull space. As much as you would like to put elaborative rich drapes on the windows which will also make up most of the walls, they just won’t fit because there is a clear demarcation line between commercial and residential aesthetics. And this is exactly where corporate art comes to front. It gives colors and expression to what seems a boring ambiance.

And of course, any wall art can do the trick. But who wants a low grade wall art in businesses run by millions to billions of dollars, anyway? An office furniture alone cost the investors an arm and leg just to make the ambiance conducive to workers. A corporate executive needs to sit in a not just ordinary office chair when he starts thinking and working in his desk. Thousands are spent for his thinking authoritative chair alone. This gives him the feeling of power to make fruitful decisions. If so, these thousands need to be backed up by a very sophisticated wall art. Otherwise, it will drag down the rest to cheapness.

And yes, when it comes to class and value, will anything beat a corporate art aka a wall painting?

Humble Asian Arts

Asian art cannot be underestimated in wherever angle you look at it. Just by considering wall paintings alone, one can notice that art belonging from this heavy-cultural continent is not just merely streaks of brush strokes or some squares that are piled up from one top of another. And yes, these impressive creations belong to creative artists coming from the humble part of the globe.

When others grab for concept to paint, artists from Asia just need to look back. From each of the diverse cultures, a gallery can already have a display of thousands or more of artworks coming from a fragment of cultural history of one Asian country alone. And in many parts of Asia, despite modernization, people are still attached to their tradition, history, and culture. And none of the many reasons that are available can dispute the fact that faith and religion had been the greatest contributing factor that shapes one’s culture; in which each religion as we know has its own history. Subjects to paint that revolve around faith and religion seems limitless already.  This is the reason why wall paintings of Asian art are identifiable when it comes to their origin even in the absence of information about the creators themselves.

On top of that, we can even wonder if such culture or faith and religion had blessed the people with a unique hand to paint, not to mention that what is present in all artists is an unfathomable creative mind. But what makes it noteworthy is many of them grew up in poverty. Some are even below poverty line where the rest have lived as normal as per the standard of average lifestyle of the third world which is far below from what is deemed ordinary of the more fortunate ones. We do not know what gives their hands the strength if it is daily challenges for survival that inspire them to paint or that make their hands withstand a laborious task. But whatever it is, surely their artworks are impressive—of whether they come from the Philippines, India, Indonesia or Vietnam, etc.

Generally speaking, when these artists are asked with regards to who inspire them to paint most of them have the habit of mentioning renowned artists from the west or from somewhere where financial stress is less as compared to where they belong. Just as what it has been told, these fine artists came from the humble part of the globe and rarely see that their works are far superior from that of the ones they herald.  They are not well aware of the fact that a unique talent stands out in heaven’s perfect timing even without financial background to back up.

The Best of Asian Art

Truly there are many styles of wall paintings and mostly all are similar to one another. They are brush strokes of paints to come up with different figures, shapes, and expressions. Of whether we speak of art from western countries or somewhere else, wall paintings are becoming more and more as one in style. Put the wall paintings in one collection side by side and less is the chance that one cares for its origin anymore. Not unless…..

And yes, not unless it is the Best of Asian art! No offense to other Asian works which we all know are equally great but it is irrefutable that lacquer painting or the mother or pearl- look becomes the flag bearer of Asian art which does not necessarily mean that the rest are inferior in quality or aesthetics, but it just so happened that lacquer gives a unique look that is truly Asian. Why would a buyer from the west purchase a wall art that is just like what is being sold in the nearby store when his plan is to make his room exotic? Surely, he wants a touch of Asian but he doesn’t want his room to look historical or cultural. He prefers the figure in painting to be casual like a flower in a pot but then again he wants the overall look to be Asian. In this case, flower in a vase lacquer painting is what the art buyer is looking for. Add some touches of mother of pearls around the area and what is offered to the person is the best of Asian art.

Different countries from Asia have different painting styles common to each race. Works are impressive. Their hands are magical when it comes to art. Their expertise in brush strokes along with their creative minds are brilliant but lacquer and with some use of mother of pearl exudes a unique look that stands out from the rest. It projects a certain effect that is of rarity and confined only to Asian works. And this makes the works of Vietnamese artists push the rest behind them. They have the edge, not to mention that they too got the style!

Lacquer- of whether the painting is licked-finished or created and styled in dry brush exude glossy as well as glassy in effect which makes it extremely attractive in aesthetic sense. These are the most sought when it comes to home interior designing. We see these in panels of multiple pieces. They are arranged as one to reveal the whole figure or sometimes, hung with spaces in between to create a look of multiple wall arts. And likewise, these are Asian arts which most of the time revolve around fortune like money tree, horses, and the likes.
