I find out that artists need publicity for his works to be known. I visited one of the exhibits in the country a few days ago and saw a few numbers of artists among hundreds of thousands or maybe to millions residing in the Philippines. I checked out their works and almost all are equally impressive but only a few are known.
The country, I guess, is full of artistic people and rising above among the many people who share the same gift is more than challenging but difficult. I wonder what makes an artist stand out among the rest. An artist backed up with publicity and advertisement surely will be a hit. These are artists that are managed well and funded by a team, a group or a network like an actor in one local channel. But there are also who are unseen for long and accidentally hit the limelight in a snap. Most of the time character, reputation, and most of all personality of the artist is a great contributor to his fame. An image or reputation-building for the sake of publicity does not work at all as much those who are born with unique qualities. X-factor as how we call it plays a major role on how others see a person. It is the catchy personality or appeal that no one can explain where it is coming from. Or in some cases, the person’s or artist’s prevailing situation accidentally brings him to fame.
In such place like this where artistic talents and creativity are common to people, the above-mentioned factors can make an individual superior to others when it comes to success. Or probably, there are just people that are destined to make a statement and leave a legacy which is not just limited to artistry but to whatever field a person can engage himself into.
