Asian Art Online

While browsing the net, I came across a website that solely covers on Asian Art. I thought it was worth my time to spend a few more minutes looking at the content. And yes, I noticed that it is more of wall paintings than any other form of arts like sculpture, etc. Despite that it focuses on one form of art only I still did not find the site boring, after all the site features Asian painting collections.

Thus, expect its genre and design to be diverse. Looking at those wall paintings in the site gallery just made me ponder on the diversity of the culture of the continent. Asia as the western always say is culture-enriched. Travelers use to come and go here to explore the culture in each destination. Loving Asia is loving the diverse heritage of its people which artwork excellently represents. Artwork or say wall painting is a mirror of one's roots. You can tell an art piece to be far from being Asian when you see train in the background with a cowboy in his horse on the side. You know it well then that the painting is of western origin. Or if a frame is more of art deco, chances are it is European. Asian art, as I am expecting it to be, shows more rural lifestyle like fishing, farming, and harvesting crops. Or if not, it talks so much about nature like lush green with budding flowers, the sky, birds, or animal which huge population which makes it distinct or identifying character of one country like elephant of India.

Well yes, I saw my expectation on that Asian art website. However, I will not say there are plenty of these artworks that say so much of their country’s culture. This is maybe because gone were the days of too much patriotism to ones country. Even the artists have joined the fad of globalization. That is logical, actually. Paint something that all people from all walks of life can relate to. Paint something about life in general without thinking too much of promoting one’s origin most especially if your art pieces will be showcased via the internet where you market the entire globe. Artists of this generation can derive their inspiration from global events and the life in it in general or just simply work from their emotions. Anyway, emotion is universal. Whatever you are feeling, surely there are billions of people across the earth who can relate to you and to your artwork.
